The OpenGL graphics mode of SAP2000 is being phased-out in favor of DirectX.

OpenGL Overflow Error

When opening models within previous versions of SAP2000, OpenGL may cause an Overflow Error, which may be resolved by editing the SAP2000v14.ini file such that the GraphicsMode parameter OpenGL is replaced with GDIPlus, as shown below in Figure 1. Users may then switch to OpenGL graphics mode once the model is open.

The SAP2000v14.ini file is located in the user settings folder under:

• C:\Users[UserName]\AppData\Local\Computers and Structures (for Windows 7 or Vista)

• C:\Documents and Settings[User Name]\Local Settings\Application Data\Computers and Structures (for Windows XP)
