Parallel processing for multiple cores / CPUs

Multiple cores are used when factoring the stiffness matrix and when solving for load vectors. These operations occur during the following analyses:

The following operations are also parallelized:

  • Moving-load analysis
  • Modal history response recovery
  • For nonlinear static and nonlinear direct integration time history cases, nonlinear stiffness formation, event determination, and state update algorithms for the elements below:
    • Frame/Pipe
    • Link
    • Plane/Asolid
    • Solid
    • Shell

A single core is used during modal time-history analysis.

Future CSI  Software releases will offer additional parallel processing capabilities for various software applications.
