Recovering corrupted SAFE model files
Recovering corrupted SAFE model files
SAFE model files of binary format may become corrupted due to:
- Network congestion or connectivity issues when saving to a network location.
- Interference from file indexing or anti-virus software.
Files may be recovered through one of the following methods:
- In binary format, open the model backup file, which is the FBK extension automatically created.
- In text format, import the model backup file, which is the $SF extension automatically created.
Each of these backup files should be located with the FDB file, and should reflect the most recently saved model.
Can a previous SAFE model be recovered?
Extended Question: I accidently saved a SAFE model over the previous version. Can the previous model be recovered?
Answer: Once the previous FBK, $SF, and FDB files no longer exist, there is no way to recover the previous model.
