Reference temperature

Reference temperature

Reference temperature is a parameter which was removed from CSI Software application.

Material temperature may be assigned to structural elements to characterize their temperature-dependent material properties.

Temperature load is applied incrementally. As a result, temperature conversion from Celsius (C) to Fahrenheit (F) is given as C:F = 5:9.

All temperature loads became incremental with SAP2000 V11.0.5. The 32 degree conversion was removed in response to Incident 11547. Reference temperature is a parameter which no longer exists in CSI Software. Material temperature is different from reference temperature. Reference temperature was removed because the rules established to govern temperature application to specific structural elements became overly complicated. Procedures are now practical and logical.
