How are column moments extracted at diaphragm locations?
Extended Question: I am trying to find the moments induced by wind loading that transfer from diaphragms to columns. I hope to use these forces as input for PT slab design and check of punching shear. Using meshed-slab display and section cuts does not seem to be most efficient. Is there a simple and accurate way to extract moment values?
Answer: Internal column forces may be exported in tabular format to Excel by selecting Display > Show Tables > Analysis Results > Frame Output > Column Forces. Major and minor bending moments will be reported at different stations along column heights. This data may then be post-processed as necessary.
