Import IFC into ETABS

IFC import into ETABS supports the following IFC objects:

  • IfcBeam
  • IfcColumn
  • IfcSlab
  • IfcStructuralCurveMember
  • IfcStructuralSurfaceMember
  • IfcStructuralPointConnection

NOTE:

  • Structural View is recommended for import over Coordination View in that the outcome for a Coordination View is not guaranteed. The fourth line will state the view classification.
  • IfcBeams and IfcColumns are Coordination View entities, and not Structural View entities, though they import correctly using Structural View if their shape representation is based on IfcSweptAreaSolid.
