Export from ETABS into Perform3D

Versions 19.0 and newer of ETABS allow the Exporting of ETABS models into Perform3D models.
When performing an export from ETABS, you have the following choices:

Perform3D Model Units
Program select units based on ETABS current database Force and Length Units. Value of gravitation acceleration is calculated based on these two units.

Reading ETABS Model
The export routine reads the ETABS model to convert the it into an equivalent Perform3D Data as described in the.
An example of how the export report file documents the translation of the Materials, Frame Sections, Shell Properties, Joints, Constraints, and Frame Releases (sections 2a through 2g) are shown below:

h) Shells
The export routine reads the Area Objects and checks to see if they cam be exported to Perform3D.
Perform3D only allows quadrilateral area objects and has strict checks for element shape and connectivity. All triangular area objects are meshed into three equivalent quads. The program documents the warnings and errors about export of shells as shown in the following example of the export report file:

When the report file issues a "SHAPE WARNING" message (as shown above) it means that the area object was exported. However, when the report file issues a "SHAPE ERROR" it means that area object was not not Exported into Perform3D.

Perform3D Materials
For material concrete f’c is taken from its property and maximum Fu is checked from stress strain curve. If maximum Fu is greater than f’c then maximum Fu will be used for f’c.
For steel and rebar materials fy, fu and effective fy and fu are taken from their properties.
