What is the difference between SAP2000 and PERFORM-3D?

Answer: PERFORM-3D offers some specialized types of nonlinear objects which are not currently available to SAP2000, including a shear wall, general wall, and infill panel. A general nonlinear layered shell object has been introduced in SAP2000 which serves a function similar to that of PERFORM-3D wall objects.

PERFORM-3D also enables various limit states and output D/C ratios to be defined for object groups. Color-coordinated animations depict the dynamic response of these limit states.

Ultimately we would like to integrate PERFORM-3D into SAP2000 such that users may access the modeling features and analysis capabilities of PERFORM-3D within the familiar interface of SAP2000.
