This page contains frequently asked questions related to *[solvers|kb:solver]*. *On this page:* {toc} h1. FAQ h2. Why am I getting different warning messages for standard and advanced solvers? Since the standard and advanced solvers use different algorithms, the results may be slightly different for the two solvers. This difference is primarily due to numerical reasons, which may be affected, for example, by the order in which the equation are solved. h2. Can I run models stored on the network, instead of locally? Running models on the network instead of locally may cause problems due to various reasons, such as network congestion or permission issues. During the analysis, program creates many intermediate files and must have access to read from and write to these files. It is possible that the program is unable to access the intermediate files when you save the file over the network and hence you see some error messages. Network congestion or permission issue could be a couple of possible reasons that may be preventing SAP2000 from accessing the intermediate files. We would recommend that you run the analysis after saving the file locally. You can always copy all the analysis files to the network location at the end of the day. h2. Is there a separate installation of SAP2000 for 32-bit and 64-bit machines? *Extended Question:* Since there is only one installation file, does the installer install 32-bit or 64-bit version based on the computer properties, or does a single installation handles both types of machines? *Reply:* The single installer installs both analysis engines on every computer. The decision of which one to call is made at the time of running the analysis and is based on the operating system and the user options chosen. {hidden-content} Related emails: * {email:from=bm|to=ok|date=11/1/2010|subject=32-bit vs. 64-bit solver handling|comment=explains how the program handles 32-bit and 64-bit solver|id=5932024} {hidden-content}page is devoted to frequently asked questions (FAQ) related to solver. |

Why am I receiving different warning messages for the standard and advanced solvers?
Answer: Since the standard and advanced solvers use different algorithms, their results may be slightly different. This difference is primarily attributed to numerical reasons, which may be influenced by various factors, including the sequence in which equations are solved. As a result, if numerical problems occur near the threshold of detection, they can only be reported by one solver.
Can I run models stored on the network instead of those stored locally?
Answer: For response, please see the Running models stored on the network article.
Are there separate SAP2000 installations for 32-bit and 64-bit machines?
Answer: For SAP2000 V18.0.0 and later and CSiBridge V18.0.0 and later, there is a separate installer for the 32-bit and 64-bit version. For the previous versions, a single installer installed both analysis engines on every computer. The decision as to which version to call is made at the time of analysis according to the operating system and user preference.
