It is possible that sometimes the model file in SAFE model files of binary format may get become corrupted due to reasons beyond our control (e.g. network congestion/:

  • Network congestion or connectivity issues when saving

Files may be recovered through one of the following methods:

  • In binary format, open the model backup file

  • In text format, import the model backup file

Each of these backup files should be located with the FDB file, and should reflect the most recently saved model.

Can a previous SAFE model be recovered?

Extended Question: I accidently saved a SAFE model over the previous version. Can the previous model be recovered?

Answer: Once the previous FBK, $SF, and FDB files no longer exist, there is no way to recover the previous model.
