h1. Report Format File

The information that gets *Report Format File*, which controls the information displayed in individual [report|kb:Reporting] tables is controlled by the currently attached report, may be attached for both XML-based reports and those created using the Advanced Report Writer.

The default format file, *SapDefaultFormatFile. You can attach the report format files for both xml-based reports and reports created via advanced report writer.

The default format file SapDefaultFormatFile.fmtfmt*, may be manually edited, though we recommend editing a copy of the file. This file is available through Options > Database > Edit Format File, and is located  in the SAP2000 user -settings folder, (typically C:\Documents and Settings\<user name>\Local Settings\Application Data\Computers and Structures\,. someSome folders may be hidden). You can edit this default format file (we would however recommend editing a _copy_ of this format file) via "Options > Database > Edit Format
File".
