titleLegacy Feature

This page describes legacy feature that is no longer available in the current version of the program.

As of SAP2000 V11.0.5, all temperature loads are incremental, so the conversion should be C:F = 5:9.

We removed the 32 deg conversion with Incident 11547 in Version 11.0.5, and Reference Temperature was removed with Version 11.0.0. Note that Material Temperature affects material properties and it is not the same as Reference Temperature, which no longer exists. Material temperature has no affect on the loads.

*Reference temperature* is a parameter which was removed from {new-tab-link:http://www.csiberkeley.com/}CSI{new-tab-link} Software application.

Material temperature may be assigned to structural elements to characterize their temperature-dependent material properties.

Temperature load is applied incrementally. As a result, temperature conversion from Celsius (C) to Fahrenheit (F) is given as C:F = 5:9.

All temperature loads became incremental with SAP2000 V11.0.5. The 32 degree conversion was removed in response to Incident 11547. Reference temperature is a parameter which no longer exists in CSI Software. Material temperature is different from reference temperature.

Reference temperature was removed because the rules established to govern temperature application to specific structural elements became overly complicated. Procedures are now practical and logical.
