h2. How are domes created within SAP2000?

*Answer:* *Dome structures* may be created using the [shell|kb:Shell] template available upon creating a new model. Options for this shell type include spherical and parabolic domes. Application of the spherical dome template is demonstrated in Problem T of Help > Contents > Example Problems.

As an alternative, domes may be created within AutoCAD, then [imported|kb:Import] into SAP2000 as described in the [DXF import|sap2000:Import DXF into SAP2000] tutorial.
