Commuter license is a feature available for network licenses that enables the user to check out network license from the License server and use it on a client machine without the need to be connected to the network with the license server.

The following two methods and tools are available to check out commuter licenses:

• Use the WCommute.exe utility on the client machine for checking out network license for a computer that IS connected to the network with license server. Licenses checked out in this method can be checked back in.
• Use the WRCommute.exe utility on the client machine for checking out network license for a computer that IS NOT connected to the network with license server. Licenses checked out in this method cannot be checked back in.
