Adding Pipe supports and points/nodes along elbow radius
Here we click the Draw guide icon on the left side of the CSiPlant screen and hover around the 5D radius elbow where the percentage around the radius is graphically displayed. Since the model direction for this example starts with the shorter end of the pipeline down to the longer end, that percentage is from the elbow start point. While the percentage is displayed, type on your keyboard the percentage around the elbow radius where you want to place the guide, which will cause a % box to appear as shown below left with the numbers that you typed. Then press enter to draw the guide as shown below right. In this example, you can see that we entered 27%.
There are no limits to the number of pipe supports or points/nodes that can be placed along the elbow radius. Once a point has been added, users can assign point loads to it, or use the point to connect to a trunnion or other support.
Here we click draw point icon, hover our mouse around the elbow radius, type 69%, and press enter to add a point/node 69% around the radius of the elbow.
Note that by default, CSiPlant calculates code stresses at 9 stations along the length of the elbow radius without having to add additional points.
