Connecting pipe supports to another pipe or frame (2-point supports)

To connect a pipe support to another pipe or frame, select the support itself and the pipe or frame to which you want to connect, then Assign menu>Support>Connection. In the example below a guide above and a pipe below are selected. You can connect using the shortest distance or to a specified Point ID (point label). By selecting Shortest Distance, a joint was automatically added to the selected pipe which is now connected to the pipe above with a 2-point guide support. In this example, that means both pipes are free to move in the axial direction, but any load in the vertical or lateral direction will affect the connected piping.
