LSFORCEHOST is an environment variable that is used for network licenses to specify location of the license server.

Setting LSFORCEHOST value

The procedure for setting LSFORCEHOST value for Windows XP and Windows 7 is given below.


Setting LSFORCEHOST value in Windows XP

  • Select Start > Control Panel > System > Advanced (tab).
  • Select Environment Variables, then select System Variables > New.
  • Enter the information which follows:
Variable name = LSFORCEHOST

Variable value = IP address or name of your license server computer

NOTE: If your network uses dynamic IP addresses, use the Server name instead of the IP address.


Setting LSFORCEHOST value in Windows 7

  • Select Start > Control Panel > System and Security > System.
  • Select Advanced System Settings in the left column, then select Advanced (tab).
  • Select Environment Variables, then select System Variables > New.
  • Enter the information which follows:
Variable name = LSFORCEHOST

Variable value = IP address or name of your license server computer

NOTE: If your network uses dynamic IP addresses, use the Server name instead of the IP address.
