Web-activated licensing is described as follows:
For how long is the activation key valid?
ANSWER: The activation key is valid indefinitely for a given product version and level. The activation key is only required when reactivating the software. The activation key is not necessary for license renewal. Any change to the software version or level will create a new activation key that must be entered to license the new software.
NOTE: Save a copy of the activation key such that you may use it to reactivate the software.
What happens when the license expires after two years?
ANSWER: When the license expires, the software will prompt you to directly obtain a new license by way of internet connection without contacting
CSI
or your dealer. An activation key will not be required for this process.
To which software does web-activated licensing apply?
ANSWER: Web-activated licensing will apply to all major
CSI
products as their subsequent major release becomes available.
Can we still lock the software to a USB key?
How do I demo the software?
Which license manager version is required?
ANSWER: The latest version of the license manager, v8.5.0, is required. If an older version of the license manager is in use, uninstall it before installing v8.5.0.
What is the procedure for installing a network license?
ANSWER: The license manager installation must connect to the internet when entering activation key to obtain the license file. Workstations can be installed at any time. Workstation installations do not need internet connection.
Steps for moving network licenses?
ANSWER: To uninstall the license manger/server you MUST deactivate all your licenses prior to uninstalling. Your activation keys will not be valid for reactivation on new server unless they have been deactivated from the previous network server.
