Generalized displacements are user-defined displacement measures useful for output data and monitoring nonlinear-static analysis. Translational or rotational displacements from one or more joints are scaled and summed to generate generalized-displacement values. For example, story drift may be defined as DRIFTX and measured as the difference in UX displacement between vertically-aligned points on adjacent floors.
