FAQ
Why am I getting different warning messages for standard and advanced solvers?
Since the standard and advanced solvers use different algorithms, the results may be slightly different for the two solvers. This difference is primarily due to numerical reasons, which may be affected, for example, by the order in which the equation are solved.
Can I run models stored on the network, instead of locally?
Running models on the network instead of locally may cause problems due to various reasons, such as network congestion or permission issues. During the analysis, program creates many intermediate files and must have access to read from and write to these files. It is possible that the program is unable to access the intermediate files when you save the file over the network and hence you see some error messages. Network congestion or permission issue could be a couple of possible reasons that may be preventing SAP2000 from accessing the intermediate files. We would recommend that you run the analysis after saving the file locally. You can always copy all the analysis files to the network location at the end of the day.
Is there a separate installation of SAP2000 for 32-bit and 64-bit machines?
Extended Question: Since there is only one installation file, does the installer install 32-bit or 64-bit version based on the computer properties, or does a single installation handles both types of machines?
Reply: The single installer installs both analysis engines on every computer. The decision of which one to call is made at the time of running the analysis and is based on the operating system and the user options chosen.
