Checking Out License

To prevent losing a network license, you can check out the license to your workstation and check it back in once the analysis is completed and you have reviewed the results. Please note that other users will not be able to access the checked out license until it is checked in. The procedure to check out the network license is described in the "Remote Commuter Licensing.doc" Word file that is located in the SAP2000 installation directory and summarized briefly as follows:

(1) Run the Wcommute.exe utility which is also found in the SAP2000 program directory.

(2) Locate your server by using the file menu or command button at the bottom of the screen. Choose Search Subnet.

(3) Enter amount of days you wish to check-out.

(4) Highlight the feature you want to check out and hit the Check Out button.

NOTE: Leave the box blank for (checkout authorization for remote user) Unless, checking out for someone who is unable to connect to your LAN and who has already run WRCommute and sent you the computer locking code.

IMPORTANT: Usually the environment variable LSFORCEHOST needs to be set on the workstation: LSFORCEHOST = no-net. This can be done as follows:

a) Run the Wlmadmin.exe program found in SAP2000\ETABS\SAFE > program folder and record the IP address of the program server.

b) For Windows NT, 2000 and XP, open control Panel >Systems > Advanced tab > Environment Variable > System Variable and provide the following information.

Panel

LSFORCEHOST=IP Address of your Program server (when connecting to the network)
LSFORCEHOST=no-net (when disconnecting from the network)

(5) Reboot the workstation.
