CSI licenses starting with SAP2000 v18, CSiBridge 2016, ETABS 2016, SAFE 2016 and later, require License Manager v8.6 (or later). Older versions of the License Manager (v8.5 and earlier) will not recognize these new licenses.

  • The latest version of the License Manager can be downloaded from here and installed on your server. 
  • Once installed, please download and install the latest set of Utilities (license management tools) from here

Manually Upgrading Sentinel RMS License Manager

To upgrade your current License Manager, please proceed with the following steps (usually takes less than 5 minutes):

  1. Please uninstall your current version of Sentinel RMS License Manager from the Control Panel (two versions of the License Manager cannot reside/run on the same machine).
  2. Download the latest version of the License Manager from here on to your server .

Web-activated network licenses use NetKey.exe to activate, deactivate, reactivate, and renew the licenses on the license server. NetKey.exe is installed during the installation of the Sentinel RMS License Manager and Sentinel RMS Utilities.

  1. and install.
  2. Once the License Manager is installed, please download and install the latest set of Utilities (license management tools) from here. This will automatically update any previous version of the Sentinel RMS Utilities installed.

Please note licenses may be temporarily unavailable during the uninstall and reinstall process so it is advisable to notify any software users.

Web-activated licenses are locked to multiple locking criteria including Ethernet Address, CPU Info String and UUID. Any server changes affecting any of these locking criteria, including maintenance, repair or reformatting the server, will cause the license to no longer work and also prevent the license from being deactivated. Please deactivate the license(s) before making any changes to the license server. Please note legacy versions of CSI programs using LM 7 licenses cannot be hosted on the latest versions of the License Manager. You must maintain a separate server for hosting the LM 7 licenses.

The license activation server ports are 80 and 443. If either of these ports is blocked, they need to be opened, otherwise license activation will not be possible. Please refer to the Error 'Port 80 (or 443) is not responding' when running activation tool for web-activated licenses article for additional information.

For products released prior to 2/4/2014, ports 8080 and 8443 were used instead of ports 80 and 443. If you are using products released prior to 2/4/2014, please upgrade to the latest version of Sentinel RMS Utilities , as ports 80 and 443 are typically opened on most systems by default.
