\\ Depending on whether a [license|kb:Licensing] is standalone or [network|Network license (conventional)], the time it takes [SAP2000|sap2000:home] or [CSiBridge|csibridge:home] to locate the license then launch the software may be reduced as follows: \\ * *Standalone* -- Create a [LEVEL.TXT|kb:Run a lower software version using a current licenselevel.txt] file which lists only the program level on the first line, then save this file to the folder in which the software is installed. This file, included when a new license is sent, will speed the time it takes the software to locate the license. \\ \\ {info} *NOTE:* [SAP2000|sap2000:home] program levels include the following: \\ \\ BASIC / PLUS / ADVANCED / ULTIMATE / BASICC / PLUSC / ADVANCEDC / ULTIMATEC / ADVANCEDI / ULTIMATEI {info} \\ {info} *NOTE:* [CSiBridge|csibridge:home] program levels include the following: \\ \\ ADVANCED RATING / ADVANCED / PLUS RATING / PLUS / ADVANCED RATINGC / ADVANCEDC / PLUS RATINGC / PLUSC {info} {hidden-content} *Related Email:* * {email:date=11/20/2012|from=Marilyn|to=Mike|subject=Speed up the process for finding a network license |comment=Level.txt notes on SAP2000 and CSiBridge|id=9896237} {hidden-content} \\ * *Standalone (alternative)* -- As an alternative to using the LEVEL.TXT file, the program level can be specified as a command-line option. To do so, create a shortcut that points to the SAP2000.exe file in the installation folder by running the Windows Run command, then by adding "/L \[Program Level\]" (in which \[Program Level\] is one of the options listed in the previous note) to the command line after "SAP2000.exe" such that the entry reads: "SAP2000.exe/L \[Program Level\]". Specification of program level on the command line will supersede that in the LEVEL.TXT file. \\ \\ {info} *NOTE:* Software released prior to version 15 does not offer this command-line option. {info} \\ * *Network* -- Create a text file named LMHOST.INI, as described in the [Network license lookup|kb:Network license lookup#LMHOST.INI file] article, then save this file to the folder in which the software is installed. {hidden-content} *Related Email:* * {email:date=11/14/2012|from=Kim|to=Mike|subject=Expedite license location|comment=Description of process for speeding the time it takes to find the license file and launch the software|id=9896229} {hidden-content} h1.
