FAQ
How do I print a simple summary of Load Combinations including the name of each load combination, load cases included, and factors applied to load cases?
There are several ways to do this:
- Use "File > Print Table > MODEL DEFINITION > Load Pattern Definitions > Response Combinations > Table: Combination Definitions" menu command to print this information:
- You could also use "Edit > Interactive Database Editing" menu command to do the same or to export the information to Excel for further formatting and post-processing.
- Our you could use "Display > Show Tables"...
- Finally, the table "Table: Combination Definitions" could be included in a report created via "File > Create Report" or "File > Advanced Report Writer" menu commands.
How can I obtain acceleration and velocity of specific point of my bridge while subjected to moving truck?
You would need to define plot function via "Display > Show Plot Functions" menu command. See /wiki/spaces/forms/pages/1479890.
Can I exported deformed shape into DXF format?
It is not possible to directly export the deformed shape in DXF format. However, there is a workaround. After running the analysis, modify the undeformed geometry using the "Analyze > Modify Undeformend Geometry" command. Specify the load case you are interested in. You may have to specify a scale factor that will sufficiently exaggerate the displacements. Then you can use the "File > Export > AutoCAD .dxf File" menu command.
Why is my report missing results for load cases and load combinations?
The default format file that is used to generate report through "File > Create Report ..." has a filter whereby only the results for the linear static and modal analysis cases are printed out. You need to edit the default format file using "Options > Database > Edit Format File ..." menu command to remove this filter. Thereafter, choose the load cases or combinations that you want under "File > Report Setup ..." menu command. With this, the program will include all selected load cases/combinations in the report, generated through "File > Create Report ..." menu command.

h2. Why is my report missing results for load cases and load combinations?
*Answer:* The default format file used to generate [reports|kb:Reporting], available through File > Create Report, has a filter which only prints results from linear-static and [modal|kb:Modal analysis] analysis cases. This [filter|kb:Applying advanced filters using SQL strings] should be removed by editing the default format file through Options > Database > Edit Format File. Afterwards, the [load cases|kb:Load case] and [load combinations|kb:Load combination] desired may be chosen through File > Report Setup. These cases and combinations will then be included when the report is generated through File > Create Report.
As an alternative, the [Advanced Report Writer|kb:Reporting in SAP2000], available through the File menu, may be used to customize the report as necessary.
h2. How is a simple summary of load combinations printed?
*Extended Question:* I would like to print a simple summary which includes the name of each load combination, the load cases included, and the factors applied to those load cases. How is this done?
*Answer:* This may be accomplished through one of the following methods:
* Select File > Print Table > Model Definition > Load Pattern Definitions > Response Combinations > Table: Combination Definitions to chose tables for printing, as shown in Figure 1:

* Select Edit > Interactive Database Editing to achieve the same effect. Here, information may either be printed or [exported|kb:Export] to Excel for post-processing.
* Select Display > Show Tables.
* Select File > Create Report _or_ File > Advanced Report Writer to include, in the [report|kb:Reporting], the table entitled Table: Combination Definitions.
h2. How is the acceleration and velocity of a specific point on a bridge model obtained when subjected to a moving vehicle load?
*Answer:* This may be accomplished by defining a plot function through Display > Show Plot Functions, available using the [joint displacement plot function|forms:Joint displacement plot function] form.
h2. Is deflected configuration available for export into DXF format?
*Answer:* Deflected configuration may be [exported|kb:Export] into DXF format after analysis is run by selecting Analyze > Modify Undeformend Geometry, then by specifying the [load case|kb:Load case] of interest. A scale factor may need to be specified to magnify deflection. Finally, select File > Export > AutoCAD .dxf File to export deflected configuration.
