\\ Depending on whether a [license|kb:Licensing] is standalone or [network|kb:Network license], the time it takes [SAP2000|sap2000:home] or [CSiBridge|csibridge:home] to locate the license then launch the software may be reduced as follows: |

NOTE: Software released prior to version 15 does not offer this command-line option. |
- Network – Create a text file named LMHOST.INI which lists either the network name, or the IP address of the machine running the License Manager, then save this file to the folder in which the software is installed. If more than one machine serves licensing, enter each name or IP address on a separate line of text. This file will then speed the time it takes the software to locate the network license.

* *Standalone* -- Create a [LEVEL.TXT|kb:Run a lower software version using a current license] file which lists only the program level on the first line, then save this file to the folder in which the software is installed. This file, included when a new license is sent, will speed the time it takes the software to locate the license.

*NOTE:* The program level entered should be one of the following:

\\
BASIC / PLUS / ADVANCED / ULTIMATE / BASICC / PLUSC / ADVANCEDC / ULTIMATEC / ADVANCEDI / ULTIMATEI

* *Standalone (alternative)* -- As an alternative to using the LEVEL.TXT file, the program level can be specified as a command-line option. To do so, create a shortcut that points to the SAP2000.exe file in the installation folder by running the Windows Run command, then by adding "/L \[Program Level\]" (where \[Program Level\] is one of the options listed in the previous note) to the command line after "SAP2000.exe" such that the entry reads: "SAP2000.exe/L \[Program Level\]". Specification of program level on the command line will supersede that in the LEVEL.TXT file.

* *Network* -- Create a text file named LMHOST.INI which lists either the network name, or the IP address of the machine running the [License Manager|kb:Sentinel RMS License Manager], then save this file to the folder in which the software is installed. If more than one machine serves licensing, enter each name or IP address on a separate line of text. This file will then speed the time it takes the software to locate the network license.
