h1. FAQ

h2. Is there a limit on the number of rows that can be exported to Excel?

*Extended Question:* I ran a model of a bridge and want to exportSome of the resultresults tables to Excel, but some of the tables I have morefor thana thebridge 65000 or so rows, so the data is being cut off. I am using Excel 2007 which does not have this limitation but the rows are still being cut around 65,000. Could you help me with this problemmodel are cut-off around 65,000 rows when exported to Excel. Is there an explanation for this limitation?

*Answer:* TheExcel latest version of the program (V14.1.0) takes advantage of the change in Excel 2007. When compared to Excel version older than Excel 2007, the limit on number of columns and rows in Excel 2007 has gone up from 256 columnsversions before 2007 are limited to 256 columns and 65,536 rows. With the release of Excel 2007, these limits expanded to 16,385 columns and from 65,536 rows to 1,048,576 rows. If Excel 2007 (or isa installedlater onversion) youris machine, the programinstalled, {new-tab-link:http://www.csiberkeley.com/}CSI{new-tab-link} Software will automatically use the enhanced data handling when creating Excel files.

Additional Insuggestions addition to the earlier suggestion for older versions of SAP2000 (i.e. exporting only a portion of the model at a time), you could also export the data include export to Access database, which does not have this limit on the number of rows, or incrementally export smaller portions of the model.
