h1. Model Descriptiondescription

A model of a 2two-span continuous girder is setup as shown in the figure below. Each span is 10m long and the girder has a(10m each), continuous girder with solid cross- section of (0.1m wideby and 0.6m deep. The structure) is modeled three times using [frame|kb: using solid elements, shell elements, and frame elements. ItFrame], [shell|kb:Shell], and [solid|kb:Solid] objects, as shown in Figure 1. The system is subjected to a unit moving load thatwhich travels the length acrossof the entire structure. Section cuts are defined atthrough the midspan of the second span. forSection-cut allforces threeare typesevaluated of models (solid, shell and area). [Influencethrough [influence-based moving -load analysis|kb:Influence-based moving-load analysis], which is run both with and without saving section cut forces.
is run to evaluate the section cut forces.

h1. Discussion of Resultsresults

In orderTo to obtain section -cut forces for [solid|kb:Solid] and [link|kb:Link] elementsobjects, you must check the option to save section cuts must be onselected theunder "Moving Load Case Results Saved" form.
This
may currently (as of V14.1.0) somewhat increase the analysis time, but the analysis speed will be improved under Incident 19192:

* When * When analysis is requested while saving section cuts forduring moving [moving-load|kb:Moving-load analysis] analysis is requested, then the section cuts (which are either defined prior to the analysis as well as the section cuts or defined or drawn after the analysis) yield theproduce correct values.

* When analysis is not requested while saving section cuts forduring moving -load analysis analysis is NOT requested, section cuts for solid and link elementsobjects will produce zero results, butand section cuts for frame and shell elements willobjects produce correct resultsvalues.
